HeyU interactive digital magazine was a quarterly publication produced by the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) Social Engagement and Marketing team. It had unique features such as internal links, galleries, and video content for an interactive experience for students.
I played a major role in the design direction of HeyU over its lifespan, including overseeing a complete visual overhaul of the magazine by the Social Media Graphic Design Officer in late 2016. At the time, these changes allowed the magazine to introduce an expanded range of diverse topic areas into the publication, boosting readership and relevance to an international audience.
During the lifetime of HeyU, I was involved in the production of all 61 issues plus 1 special edition. 17,900 unique readers enjoyed the magazine, spending 8,055 hours reading with 95,000 total views worldwide. In 2014 the magazine received a Gold Award - Best Educational Publication and Honourable Mention - Best School/University Publication at the Content Marketing Institute awards.
